So here we are pouring shiploads of cash into yet another war, this time in Libya, while simultaneously demolishing school budgets, closing libraries, laying off teachers and police officers, and generally letting the bottom fall out of the quality of life here at home.

According to the 2010 Census results, one million people have moved out of the city of Detroit since 1950 (from a peak of 1,849,568 to the new estimate of 713,777). Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati also recorded their lowest populations in over 100 years. My midwest is dying.
